PRIMA QUEEN BROWNSTONE

Rising through the thriving indie scene in London’s New Cross, Prima Queen is continuing to impress through their latest track, ‘Brownstone’. On writing it, they explain, “Brownstone was inspired from a really funny series of texts my friend sent me about a fantasy she had about a boy who she had never spoken to… she was telling me all about the cute artsy life they would have together in Brooklyn one day (after they actually met and fell in love)”. Musically, the track is bright and sunny, built on jangling guitar chords and the playful woodwind countermelodies that soar their way across and between the lead vocals. There is a distinct appreciation for a variety of genres found within this track, with the five-piece acknowledging everyone from Mitski to Sheryl Crow. Catch them live around the UK in the next few months. - Dan Peeke
